Web Design
A good looking and highly functional website can do wonders for your business. Your website is one of your most important marketing tools. Unfortuantely what many of our clients do not realise is that a badly executed website can let you down and cost you sales if it is not built properly. We consult a lot of people who approach us when they realise that their website is not performing how they expected it to. When working with clients we find the following seven mistakes crop up time and time again.
Inconsistent Brand Image Inconsistent Brand Image is perhaps more common with websites more than three years old. So many websites have no connection with their company's brand image. When we are building a website at Creative Ad Solutions we make sure that our web designer has a good understanding of your business goals, brand and current marketing materials and can reflect them into the design of your website. Not Including An About Us Page People like to deal with other people, not anonymous corporations. People use the about us page to see who they are dealing with. You can use your about us page to enagage your prospects, tell them about your company and to encourage them to do business with you. Not Including Contact Details Many websites avoid using their conact details. Contact details can reassure your visitors that your business does exist and they are able to get in contact with you if they need to. This is especially important to websites that are selling products online. If you are wanting people to hand over their credit card details you need to let people know they can get in touch with you. It is also a way to create trust. Ignoring The Kiss Principle You have three seconds to capture a visitors attention. In that time you have to tell them who you are, what you do and what is in it for them. Visitors are more likely to stay on your page if you design each page to have one main objective, keep your navigation labels simple and self explanatory and if you make it easy for the visitors on your site by making sure the clickable lnks look like clickable links. Not Making Your Website Search Engine Friendly Search engines are one of the most common ways for people to find your website. If your website has been designed and built in a way that is not search engine friendly you will not feature in search engine rankings. Having Splash Pages The vast majority of people visting your website have a task in mind. Don't stop them from doing so by placing something like an animation on there that they have to view before looking at your page. Websites That Lack Information Visitors to your website visit your site for a reason. Whether that is to purchase a product, request more information or researching a future purchase they have a reason for being there. If your website doesn't have the information they will go elsewhere. Unlike other forms of advertising, cost is not relative to space so you are able to provide detailed information about what you can offer.
